Coronavirus is impacting all businesses. Please ensure you follow the advice provided by the NHS and GOV. Where possible stay at home, save lives and protect the NHS. Here is everything we’re doing at MHE Services in-regards to current guidelines.
Face to Face Training
A few weeks ago, we took the decision to cancel all training that was face to face for March and April. This includes all courses including forklifts, first aid, mental health first aid, fire safety etc. However, we’re able to deliver to key workers if they require urgent training for forklift and crane training, however, the following must be adhered to:
- 1 to 1 training (we will look at training 2 at the same time, on a case by case basis)
- Gloves must be worn by the instructor and delegate
- An area where no other employees are walking through must be provided
- After every use of the forklift, it will be cleaned at all contact points
- Our recommendation is to use our own training centre where possible, due to more control over the above being available
If you believe that you’re a key worker and your training is urgent, please get in touch. This will be for forklifts and crane training only. All other face to face training will not go ahead. Our recommendation is for you to avoid needing training at this moment in time at all costs, however we understand that in extreme circumstances you may have no other choice but to train new forklift operators.
For all training, we will be reviewing the situation on 20th April, to decide if to open bookings for all for May onwards. We will provide an update at this time of the decision made.
From 1st April 2020, our online training has now been launched. We have a wide range or e-learning available for you or your staff to use. At the end of every e-learning course, a certificate is provided as evidence and courses are accredited through different organisations.
We have also added distance learning to our mental health courses and are now able to deliver the following courses by distance learning:
- Level 1 Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health
- Level 2 First Aid for Mental Health
- Level 3 Supervising First Aid for Mental Health
Our first open course will be the Level 3 Supervising First Aid for Mental Health, which starts on 13th April. To find out more about this course and to book our place, please click here.
Expiry Date Extensions
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE), has confirmed that any certifications that were due to expire during the Coronavirus outbreak, can have an extension to the expiry date of 3 months. This is to avoid unnecessary training. For example, if your first aid at work certificate expires Apil 10th, you’re able to add an additional 3 months onto this date.
We urge all our customers to follow the advice given by the Government and NHS. The safety of our staff and customers will always be our number one priority. If you ever wish to contact us, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our director Laura is available during this time to answer any questions and queries that you may have.
